Hi, I’m Veronica Fresneau — a communications strategist and storyteller with over 15 years of experience at the intersection of strategy, branding, content marketing, PR, and investor relations for startups and scaleups.
I’m currently based in Berlin, where I am Head of Communications at World Fund, Europe’s leading climate tech VC. In this role, I lead communications, media relations, content strategy, and thought leadership, shaping the firm’s narrative and brand across investors, startups, and the wider ecosystem. World Fund invests in early-growth climate technologies with scalable business models and significant emissions-reduction potential, bridging the financing gap for European startups driving the clean transition. Its portfolio spans sectors including energy, transportation, industry, built environment, food, agriculture, and biotech, and features companies such as Cylib, Vaeridion, Planet A Foods, IQM, and Space Forge.
Before joining World Fund, I was based in Amsterdam, where I led brand, marketing, communications, and researchat Rockstart, an early-stage VC and accelerator supporting purpose-driven startups in AgriFood, Energy, and Emerging Tech. I also contributed to EU-Startups.com, sharing insights on innovation, entrepreneurship, and investment. Earlier, I co-founded an e-commerce business and held consulting roles in the startup ecosystem.
Before moving to the Netherlands, I spent three years in Africa, helping launch the first large-scale entrepreneurial programme in French-speaking Africa, among other projects.
My early career was in tech PR, working with McCann Worldgroup and Weber Shandwick, and I co-founded a digital communications agency dedicated to tech corporates and startups. Throughout my agency career, I’ve collaborated with brands including Microsoft, Canon, HTC, Huawei, Vodafone, Ericsson, Siemens, Coca-Cola, Heineken, Nissan, and Exact, as well as NGOs, dozens of startups.
